In the teaser for the Amazon Video movie “The Idea of You,” Anne Hathaway plays a forty-year-old single mother who gets the chance to live out every teenage girl’s dream: she starts a fast-paced romantic relationship with world-class boy band lead singer Nicholas Gaultzen, who is twenty-four years old. The R-rated movie will be available for global viewing on Prime Video starting on May 2.
After they cross paths backstage at Coachella, a sweet romance develops between them. Solène and Hesse (Gaultzen) sing together at the piano as Hesse keeps a hand on her thigh. “I’m too old for you,” she says, but he hugs her and corrects her.
The couple is observed managing paparazzi while out on a romantic date, which surprises Hathaway’s character and makes her wonder, “What will people say?” Gaultzen replies, “I don’t care what they say.” The first single from the movie’s soundtrack, “Dance Before We Walk,” which is already available, is also featured in the teaser.

The story opens with Reed Scott, who plays Solène’s husband, deciding to dissolve their union and cancel planned coachella vacation with their 16-year-old daughter, Izzy (Ella Rubin). The plot is based on Robin Lee’s best-selling book of the same name. At the festival, Solène unintentionally runs into popular band August Moon’s main singer, Hesse Campbell, who is said to be modeled like Harry Styles, and the two of them click. Solène has to manage her connection with her teenage daughter, her work, and the constant attention from the media while she and her partner grow in love.
