Apple is about to launch its iOS 18.
The company is going to provide generative AI in it. For this, Apple has started talks with Open AI again. According to the report, Apple can also provide chatbot of Open AI along with Google in its new software. Let’s know the details.
Apple is preparing to launch its new software iOS 18 soon. iPhone lovers are eagerly waiting for the new OS. This is going to be Apple’s biggest OS update till date. The company is going to offer AI feature in iOS 18. At the beginning of the year, Apple started talks with Google to offer many generative AI features in iOS 18. Now Apple CEO Tim Cook has started talks again with Open AI to offer generative AI in iPhone.
Chatbot-like feature will be available in the new OS
According to Bloomberg report, Mark Gurman, Apple and Open AI started talking for this deal at the beginning of the year, but its speed was very slow. Now Apple has increased the pace of talks with Open AI. It is being said about iOS 18 that the company is considering giving a chatbot-like feature in it. Interestingly, Apple is also talking to Google about its generative AI. Apple wants Google to give it the license to offer its Gemini AI chatbot in iOS 18.
Talks are also going on with Baidu
If the report is to be believed, Apple can deal with both the companies i.e. Open AI and Google. It is also possible that the company chooses either of the two for its iOS 18. Apple is talking to China’s Baidu to offer generative AI in iOS 18 to Chinese users because Google’s service is not available in China.
Apple is working on a completely on-device Large Language Model (LLM). The company wants to offer iOS 18 to users from the processor inside the phone instead of the cloud. Experts say that Apple’s on-device AI chatbot may be less informative than Gemini and chatbots because cloud-based chatbots take information from large servers and many parameters and give it to the users. Let us tell you that Apple can launch its iOS 18 at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
